The Sunshine Coast is located in southwest British Columbia, extends 177 km (110 mi) along the Strait of Georgia from Howe Sound to Desolation Sound. This west coast gem features deep sea inlets, coastal bays and inter-connected lakes, salt and fresh water, gorgeous beaches, and rich history. Just a half hour ferry ride out of Horseshoe Bay, Vancouver BC, the Sunshine Coast is on a peninsula separated from Vancouver/Squamish by Howe Sound. As an added bonus, you only pay one-way on BC Ferries to visit the Sunshine Coast (no fare charged going off the lower Sunshine Coast). Some of the most common destinations on the Sunshine Coast include: Powell River, Roberts Creek, Sechelt, Gibsons, Halfmoon Bay, Egmont, and Pender Harbour just to name a few.
The Sunshine Coast is known for its gorgeous weather, festivals, and outdoor activities. Enjoy everything from Canadian Writer’s Festivals, to Blackberry Festivals, and even Long-boarding competitions; there is something for everyone here on the Sunshine Coast!
